DIY Address and Recipe Book!

So I have been looking for months in every store I go to for a cute recipe book and address book. So after a few weeks of frustration I decided to make one instead! They were fairly easy to make and only cost about $30 total! (you might even have more supplies at home than I did)
I purchased all of my supplies from Michaels:
  • Recollections chipboard kit (included the chipboard covers and rings)
  • White card stock paper
  • Small pack of rainbow card stock paper (2x3in)
Supplies I used from home:
  • Alphabet stamps large and small
  • Decorative stamps
  • Black ink
  • Paper adhesive runner
  • Hole punch
  • Paper cutter

I started by cutting my card stock paper to the correct length.
Then I went through and hole punched each page in the correct spot using the chipboard covers as my guide.
After that, I used the rainbow colored card stock paper to cut out my tabs, which I then stamped using my small alphabet stamps.
I made the tabs a little longer so that I could use my tape runner to adhere my tabs to the back of the pages.
(For the address book I did letters across the tabs and for the recipe book I decided to categorize by meat group! You can do whatever you'd like.)

Then, I went through the book and added decoration to the tabbed pages. For the address book I stamped the letters on the page along with a flower decoration, and for the recipe book I stamped out the category as well as a decorative scroll.

Then, I added the finishing touches by added a decorative line across the pages in the address book so that I could fit two contacts on the front and back of each page. And lastly I decorated the front cover of each book by stamping out the titles and adding a decorative scroll!

These books are so adorable and could be used for endless possibilities!
